Steuben -Republican 31 July 1968 P.6 clm 2 Amos Arlie Gleason ( 25 Nov 1871- 29 Jul 1968 ) Amos Arlie (Pop) Gleason, 96, of Rt. 3, Coldwater, Michigan , died at the Elmhurst Hospital at 7 p.m. Monday, July 29, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at the Beams Funeral Home in Fremont at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 1, with the Rev. Thomas Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the Flint Cemetery. A retired farmer, Mr. Gleason was born in Steuben County on November 25, 1871. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Michael, Rt. 3 Coldwater, Michigan: Mrs. Eula Wells, Coldwater, Michigan; and Mrs. Viola Coleman of Ray; two sons, Ralph of Quincy, Michigan; and Orville of Fremont; three step-daughters, Mrs. Maude Smith and Mrs. Elizabeth Whitmore, both of Union City, Michigan and Mrs. Stella Knight of Coldwater, Michigan; two stepsons, James Parshall of Union City, Michigan; and Albert Parshall of Coldwater, Michigan; 25 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren; and three half sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Jewell of Angola and Mrs. Vida Koontz and Mrs. Florence Wade, both of Fosteria, Ohio.
