HARRY W. CLAFLIN 22 Sep 1891 - 22 Mar 1926 Harry Claflin, son of George and Ida Claflin, was born in Chicago, Ill., September 22, 1891, and departed this life at the home of his brother-in-law, Earl Pocock, March 22, aged 34 years and 6 months. When about two years of age, he came with his parents to Steuben County, Indiana, where they located on a farm near Orland. Here Harry grew to young manhood, attending the district school and later the high school at Orland. At the age of 18 years he united with the Congregational church under the pastorate of Rev. Gray. He later transferred this membership to (illegible) Park Methodist church, at South Bend. He was united in marriage to Ethel Pocock, February 1, (illegible). To this union was born one son, Donald Milton. About three years ago he moved to South Bend, where he was employed in the Studebaker factory, where he was a great favorite with his employer and associates. He was a good citizen, always taking an active part in all that makes for a better community. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1911, his sister Eula in 1923, a brother who died in infancy, and his father, who passed away only a few short days before. He leaves to mourn his loss, his devoted wife, one son, one sister, one brother and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral was held at the Methodist church at Orland, Thursday, March 25, Rev. Salkeld of South Bend officiating with Rev.
