John H Haughey and Amy Vail

Reportedly, John H Haughey taught in the schools of Steubenville, Ohio before moving to Steuben County, Indiana with his family in 1839.  (This is according to his niece Mrs Mary (Haughey) Cameron in her Haughey history.)  Later in 1850 the John H Haugheys were farming in Otsego Twp, Steuben Co, IN near his younger 1/2 brother Timothy Haughey.  In 1860, John's widow Amy and 6 of their 13 children were living in Troy Twp, DeKalb Co, IN.

      d. after 1885 when she was a Mrs Mark and lived in Nebraska (according to the
      Civil War pension file of her brother John)

      b. 19 April 1840 Steuben Co, IN
      d. 30 Jan 1924 probably at Pleasant Lake, IN where he lived in the 1920's.
      He never married.
6.  Hannah Amy Haughey
      b. 24 Jan 1842 in Indiana
      d. after 1885 when she was a Mrs Stout and lived at Mt Ayr, Iowa
7.  Timothy H Haughey
      b. 5 Oct 1843 in Indiana
      d. after 1885 when he was a minister at New Albany in Floyd Co, IN
8.  Sarah Elizabeth Haughey
      b. 16 May 1845 Indiana
      d. 23 Oct 1854
9.  Cyrus L Haughey
      b. 3 May 1847 Indiana
      d. 30 Oct 1854
10. Mary Ann Haughey
      b. 21 Nov 1848 Indiana
      d. 23 Oct 1854
11.  Emanuel Tafel Haughey
      b. 12 Oct 1850 Indiana
      d. after 1908 when he came from Lebanon, KY to the Haughey Family Reunion
      (in Indiana? )   In 1885 he lived in Mt Ayr, Iowa
12.  Washington Vail Haughey
      b. 20 Feb 1853 in Indiana
      d. prior to 1885 as he was not listed as a living brother of John Q A Haughey in
      that year.  Washington in 1860 lived with his mother in Troy Twp, DeKalb Co, IN
