Son of Charles H. and Fannie E. Gurney; born August 13, 1889, Camden, Mich. Moved to Steuben County, Ind. in 1910, and settled on a farm in Clear Lake Township. Called into service in June, 1918. Sent to Camp Sherman, Ohio; assigned to Company M, 333rd Infantry. Transferred to Camp Mills, L. I., and then overseas; assigned to the Eighty-Fourth Division. Died of pneumonia October 18, 1918. (Place unknown.)
