Steuben County Civil War Veterans

    In 1917, the Steuben Soldier's Monument was erected in the center of Angola's town square, just north of the courthouse. 
The monument lists the names of 1,278 Steuben men who served in the Civil War, 280 of whom never returned.
The monument is affectionately known locally as "The Mound."
