Inventory Sale Records contain detailed
lists of a person's possessions at the time they were sold.
They often list the sale price
of the item along with the purchaser's name. Usually these
inventory sale records were gathered as a part of the probate
process
for a deceased person. Sometimes, the inventories were
provided as a part of a guardianship.
The information in these books approximately covers the early
1860s through 1930.
The Steuben County, Indiana Inventory Sale
