Knox - Edna Mae Napier, 67, Knox, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Winter song Village nursing home, Knox.
She is survived by sons: Roy Cullins of Grand Rapids Michigan, Jack (Esther) Noodwang of Plymouth and Ricky Napier of Knox; daughters: Marjorie (Tim) Stryjewski of Fort Wayne, Michelle Romine of North Judson, and Jackie (Adams) Cole of North Judson; brothers, Ray (Judy) Rudd of Frankfurt and Leonard (Catherine) Rudd of Knox; sister, Roberta (Maury) Frushour of Logansport; stepbrother, Bob (Regina) Howard of North Judson; stepsisters, Charlotte Mullins of Knox, Kay Trusty of Knox, and Barbara Lopez of Roswell; stepmother, Ruth Rudd of North Judson; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 17 at Brahman and Son Memorial Chapel, 108 S. Main St., Knox.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

KNOX — Jerry Neace, 71, of Knox, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009 at his home. Jerry was born Feb. 3, 1938 in Breathitt County, Ky. to Jack and Missouri Neace, both deceased.
He was the president of the Statewide Tree Service, an avid fisherman, and a supporter of various youth organizations located in Knox, Culver, Starke and Marshall counties, including 4-H and Culver Little League. On April 9, 1959 in Ashtabula, Ohio, he married Virginia Trent; she survives.
Also surviving are their children Kenneth Neace of Knox and Vincent (Lorri) Neace of Culver; his brothers, Troy and Pola Neace, both of Ky.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert (Tammy) Neace of Knox.
Visitation was Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 1 to 5 p.m. at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, 153 E. Washington St., Knox.
Funeral services will take place Monday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Floyd Allen officiating.
Burial will take place at Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak

John W. Norman, 78, RR 2, West 14th-B Road died Thursday, Jan 23 at 6:30 am in the Parkview Hospital, Plymouth. He had suffered from an extended illness. Norman was born Jan. 30, 1896 in Hamlet, Indiana to Presley and Mary (Eller) Norman and has resided in this area since 1951, having come from Starke County prior to that time. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Davis Wesleyan Church at Hamlet and was a veteran of World War I. He was married to Lodema L. Douglas Sept. 8, 1919. Mrs. Norman preceded her husband in death June 7, 1962. Survivors include three sons; Donald W., LaPorte; John W., Jr., South Bend and Larry D., Plymouth; two daughters; Mrs. Evelyn Norem, Knox and Mrs. Betty Berg, LaPorte; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister; Miss Elizabeth Norman, Hamlet. One son, Richard, preceded his father in death. Services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Davis Wesleyan Church at 2 pm. Rev. James R. Thompson officiated and burial was in the Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet. Arrangements were handled by the Bonine Funeral Home, Culver. Source:

Mrs. Rosa Etta Norman, 52 of four miles southeast of Wanatah, died at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at the Porter Memorial hospital in Valparaiso. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Chance, she was born in Knox on Feb. 10, 1897, and had lived near Wanatah for 17 years, going there from Hamlet. She was married to Edward Norman in Knox in 1921. He preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Verna Bernice Romine, Wanatah, and Delores Norman, at home; one brother, Sam Chance of Wanatah; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Sondburg, Peru, Ind., and Mrs. Ed Kell of California. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the H.A. Boehlke funeral home in Wanatah with the Rev. R.J. Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher cemetery in Hamlet. Friends may call from 7 o'clock tonight and until services at the funeral home.

Wilson Presley Norman, 72, of Hamlet, died at 6 o'clock last night at his home after an illness of two years. The son of Presley and Elizabeth Norman, he was born in Union Mills on August 17, 1875. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are three brothers, Aaron and Matthew of Hamlet, and John of Culver, and one sister, Elizabeth Norman of Chicago. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at his home in Hamlet with the Rev. Paul Shearouse officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher cemetery. Friends may call at the Kennedy and Braman funeral home in Knox tonight and tomorrow.

KNOX — Mary Lynn Nowakowaski, 53, of Knox, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at Golden Living Center.
She is survived by her father, Fred Nuelle of Effingham, Ill.; mother, Rose Nuelle of Effingham, Ill.; daughters: Erica Nowakowaski of Mishawaka and Sarah Nowakowaski of Elkhart; brother, John Nuelle of Effingham, Ill.; and sisters: Chris Detwiler and Carol Donsbach, both of Effingham, Ill.
There will be no service. Cremation will take place.
Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, is in charge of the arrangements.
