Ruth Elizabeth Fox, 92, of Modoc, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Born May 27, 1911, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Leonard and Bessie May (Rawlyns) Miller, both deceased. She married Donald Freeman Fox; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Fox had been a resident of New Palestine for 68 years before moving to Modoc. She was a homemaker. Survivors include four sons, Norman Carroll Fox of Freedom, Charles Larry Fox of Modoc, Jerry Lee Fox of Morristown, and William Gene Fox of Rushville; two sisters, Mary Katherine Kelly of Franklin and Jeanne Elenor Ingim of Florida; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepmother Leona Clark Miller, one son, two brothers, four half brothers, three half sisters, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel. Burial will follow in New Palestine Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
