Martha C. Fancher, 98, of Rushville, died Thursday, July 22, 2004,
at Miller?'s Merry Manor in Rushville. |
Born Sept. 12, 1905, in Mahomet, Ill., she was the daughter of Daniel and Myrta (Crowley) Ralph, both deceased. She married Donald P. Fancher on Oct. 6, 1923; he preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1978. Mrs. Fancher had spent most of her life in Rush County in the Rushville and Henderson communities. She worked at Rushville Pharmacy during the 1950s and ?60s. She was a past member of Hannegan Christian Church, a Past Worthy Matron of OES, and an over-50-year member of the Martha Poe Chapter. Survivors include three daughters, Lela (Mrs. Bob) Self of Rushville, Donna (Mrs. Orville) Graham of Decatur, Ill., and Doris (Mrs. Roy) Elmore of Atwood, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, two brothers, and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with the Rev. Timothy Bonney officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice. |
