Margaret Henderson Ephlin, 97, of Denton, Texas, and formerly of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Denton Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 12, 1906, in Martinsville, she was the daughter of Courtland and Martha (Shireman) Henderson. She married Max L. Ephlin on June 21, 1927; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Ephlin was a retired head bookkeeper at National Bank of Greenwood, where she worked for 25 years. Survivors include one daughter, Kay (Mrs. Bob) Reed of Denton, Texas; one brother, Courtland M. Henderson of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, including Cathy Schneider and Jim Ephlin Jr., both of Rushville; and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, two brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
