Francis Dyer, 79, of Rushville, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at

Born Feb. 2, 1924, in Rush County, he was the son of Carl and Loretta (Rill) Dyer, both deceased. He married Betty Hill on Aug. 21, 1946; she survives. Mr. Dyer was a lifelong Rush County resident and farmer. He was a 1942 graduate of Arlington High School and served as his class president. He was a member of Rushville Church of Christ for more than 40 years and had been an elder and a Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the Gideons and past president of Aberdeen Angus Association. Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Brent Dyer of Rush County; two daughters, Carol Sue (Mrs. Robert) Coon of Crawfordsville and Rebecca (Mrs. Robert) Molnar of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter and one sister. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rushville Church of Christ, with the Rev. Jerry Holdman officiating. Cremation will follow at Eastern Indiana Crematory in Lewisville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Moster & Cox Mortuary of Rushville is handling arrangements.
