Dorothy M. Harmon, 82, of Falmouth, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at her residence. Born Sept. 12, 1921, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Ray and Myrtle (Thorn) Spurgin, both deceased. She married George J. Harmon on July 17, 1941; he survives. Mrs. Harmon had lived in Rush County since 1937. She was a 1940 graduate of Raleigh High School. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church. Survivors in addition to her husband include four sons, David Harmon and Larry Harmon, both of Glenwood, Leonard Harmon of Richmond, and Terry Harmon of Middletown, Ohio; one daughter, Linda Harmon of Richmond; three brothers, Harold Spurgin of Connersville, Virgil Spurgin of Greensburg, and Floyd Spurgin of Straughn; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son and one daughter. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with George Huff officiating. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery in Fayette County. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions are requested to Fairview Christian Church.
