| Aileen (Jacobs) Delon, 90, of New Castle, died Friday, July 30,
2004, at Americare Living Center.

Born April 21, 1914, she was the daughter of Carlin and Norma Lee Elliott, both deceased. She was married to Weldon Jacobs; he preceded her in death. She was then married to Joe Delon; he also preceded her in death. Mrs. Delon was a longtime resident of New Castle. She was a graduate of Kennard High School. She was a member of the First Friends Meeting in New Castle. A well-known professional artist and member of the Henry County Art Guild, she had owned and operated a gift shop in Spiceland where she also instructed art. She was also an accomplished organist. Survivors include one nephew: Bob Montgomery (and wife Connie) of New Castle; five nieces: Norma (Mrs. Frank) Buechler of San Diego, Calif., Karen (Mrs. Eddie) Boling of Middletown, Barbara (Mrs. Donnie) Wills of Decatur, Donna Lou Hoffman of Muncie, and Rosalie (Mrs. Keith) Hood of New Castle. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister. Funeral services were held Monday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial followed in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Art Guild. |
