WAYNE I. WITSCHE SUFFERS
HEART ATTACK IN CAR, DIES

          Wayne I. Witsche, 77, Ridgeville, died in his car about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon after suffering a heart attack while driving north on U.S. 27 from Winchester. He was returning home to Ridgeville after visiting his wife, Mary, a patient at the Randolph County hospital. About one-half mile east of Winchester on U.S. 27 and about one-half mile south of the old Union City road, Mr. Witsche's car left the road, went into the right-hand ditch, through a fence, back across the road into the left-hand ditch, through a fence and into a field before coming to a stop.
          A native of Geneva, Mr. Witsche had lived at Portland for several years before moving to Ridgeville. He was a retired employee of the Sheller Manufacturing Co. at Portland. Survivors include the window, the former Mary J. Michael; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Franks and Mrs. Sam McAbee, both of Portland; six grandchildren; three brothers, Harold of Saratoga, Walter of Knox and Denny of Muncie, and three sisters, Miss Frona Witsche of Ft. Wayne, Mrs. Ora Brady of Dania, Fla., and Mrs. Robert Williams of Los Angeles, Calif.
          Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer funeral home, Portland, with the Rev. Lawrence West of Ridgeville officiating.
Burial will be in the Lawndale cemetery near Ridgeville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home after noon on Friday.
