TOWNSEND, Uriah,
committed suicide by a train. He left a note. Born in Ky. He was the father of W.J. Townsend and was abt. 67yrs of age. He had epilepsy. Res. in Stoney Crk. twp. and Monroe twp., but moved to Jay Co. about 13 yrs. ago, his wf. died soon afterwards. He was the s/o Thomas Townsend d. Oct. 6, 1893 about 1½ mi W. of Winchester at Harter's Crossing. Bur. Fountain Pk. Cem. Long article in the Oct. 11, 1893 paper. He was b. May 10, 1825, m. Keziah --(Unknown), she was b. Nov. 6, 1821.

d/o Milton and Hanna Jane (Modlin) Allen (a 2nd m.). Born 21st day. 2nd mo,1868. Died 12d, 1st mo, 1891, ae 23y 3m 21d. She m. M.A.Townsend 14th day of 10th mo,1865, they had 3 children. Surv. are the husband, 2 ch. The youngest Daisy E. d. 6th day, 6th mo, 1891, 6 days before her mother. She had consumption. She was a Quaker, joining when she was 17yrs of age. bur. in Marco Cem. in Green Co. Ind. Wm. was the s/o Caldwell and Marthay (Hodgin) Townsend. (Quaker rec.) Hannah J. d/o Wm. and Mildred, Surv. 1 sis. Martha E. and 1 bro. Wm and a half-sis. Mary A. and a half-bro. Cicero.
