Alva Study 79, Dies
Near Fountain City;
Funeral Saturday.
----------
Alva Study, 79, well known retired farmer of this community, died Thursday. He resided one mile west of Fountain City. He was a native of Green township and was educated in the Williamsburg school. He attended Valparaiso university and State Normal college. He was active in Republican politics.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Winifred Study; two daughters, Mrs. William Parker, Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Herbert Shouse, San Antonio, Texas; two
grandchildren, Mrs. Donald Oliphant, San Antonio, and Miss Nancy Parker,
Columbus; a stepsister, Mrs. Etta Morris, Snow Hill; a niece, Mrs. Earl Bond,
Webster; and a nephew, Frank Study, Bloomfield, N.J.
Funeral services for Mr. Study will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the residence in charge of Rev. Zelma Mills. Members of the Masonic lodge will be
in charge of graveside services. Burial will be in Willow Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Celia Study Dies
----------
Mrs. Celia Cassie Study, age 71, died at her home in Lynn, Monday a.m. at 12:15 o'clock. She had been in poor health for several months. Mrs. Study formerly lived near Williamsburg. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Dorsey Thurston, of near Williamsburg, and a son, Wade Kennedy of Richmond.
Funeral services were held at the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and were in charge of Rev. Ira Johnson. Burial was made in the Williamsburg Cemetery.

d. at his home in Rushville last. Fri. Jan. 6, 1893. He was 48 yrs of age, and a native of R.C. He moved to Rushville in 1879. Surv. are his wf. and 2 sons. He was a bro. of the late L.W. (Levi) Study and Henry T. Study.

b. Aug. 4, 1834 in Wayne Co. Ind near Williamsburg. He d. Apr. 23, 1891 of cancer at age 56y 8m 18d. On Apr. 22, 1860 he m. Martha Hodson when he was 31y. of age. Wife and 7 ch. surv. 2 are dec'd. bur. Cherry Grove Cem. He was the s/o Jacob and Magdalena (Cook) parents b. MD. He d. of Cancer of the stomach.
