John R. Starbuck, 58

UNION, NJ - John R. Starbuck, 58 of Union, New Jersey passed away October 14, 2006, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Staten Island, New York, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. John was born June 25, 1948 in Randolph County, Indiana the son of Clay "Sonny" and Rev. Barbara (Oler) Starbuck who preceded him in death.
          John was a 1966 graduate of Monroe Central High School, Parker City, IN, where he was active in 4-H and Future Farmers of America. He attended Mississinawa Congregational Christian Church. He moved to New Jersey in 1981 and was a member of the Union Cement Finishers, Local 472, in New York. Previously, he was a cement finisher in the Kansas City, MO area for 12 years. In his leisure time enjoyed working in his garden and keeping an immaculate lawn. John was a talented and skilled gunsmith. He enjoyed hunting whenever he had the opportunity.
          He leaves to cherish his memory a loving companion of 25 years, Sue Gannon; four sisters, Nancy Ledbetter and Susie Pope of Oak Grove, MO, Sally Martin (husband, Tim) of New Haven, IN, Barbara Sue Hayes (husband, Bush) of Mayview, MO; and six nephews.
          A service to celebrate John's life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel, Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery of Unionport, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96268. Washington, D.C. 20090-6268.

        STARBUCK, William E., b. Apr. 20, 1844-d. Jan. 28, 1893 at the insane Hospital at Richmond. He m. Mary C. (McKinney) July 10, 1867 who d. May 7, 1912. She was b. July 11,1844. Two sons are dec'd. Arlhur (b. 1886-d.1940) and Edwin S. (d. May 19,1884 ae 1y 2m 18d. All bur. at Fairvew Cem. He was in the Civil War 84 Ind. Reb. He was in the hospital for 2 yrs.

Starbuck who d. at Buena Vista of TyphoId fever Sept. 29, 1889 al age 21y. They were m. Dec. 22, 1888. He was the s/o Joshua W. and Eliz. Blanch was a dt-in-law. Eliz. was formerly Eliz. Morris both b. in Rand.Co. Serv. at Buena Vista, bur. in nearby cem.

        STARBUCK, Leroy, s/o John and Beula was b. in Guilford Co. N.C. Oct. 21, 1817-d. at his home in Winch. Jan. 29, 1892 ae 74y 3m 8d. He moved wilh his parents in 1823 to this counly. Married Polly Johnson d/o Henry and Agnes Johnson Jan. 21,1847.They had one child, Clinton (Not Finton as above). Surv. are the wife and son. Bur. Buena Vista Cem. Death rec. lists him ae 74y d. of Congeslion of the Stomach.

        STARBUCK, Walter R., b. May 19, 1812 in Stokes Co. N.C. the s/o John & Julia (Garrett) Starbuck. Came to Wayne Co. Ind. at age 18yrs, and there m. Nov. 10,1836 Sarah Fisher. They came to R.C. in 1840 near Spartansburg. He was converted at the M.E. Church. Died Sept. 8, 1881 at age 75y 3m 19d. He had Pneumonia, bur. in the Buena Vista Cem. Fun by Rev. Aaron Worlh of Jay Co. Ind.
