Donald E. Sipe, 60

WINCHESTER - Donald E. Sipe, 60 of Winchester, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester, Indiana.
          Don was born in Randolph County on July 24, 1946 to the late McClure and Pauline (Fry) Sipe. Don was raised and lived in the Saratoga area all of his life. He attended Ward-Jackson School until his senior year, then graduated from Union City High School in 1964. He also attended Fort Wayne Business College.           He was an active member of Randolph County 4-H and was a 4-H leader for more than sixteen years. Don sold John Deere farm equipment for Rickert Implement, was manager of P&M Service station for twenty-two years and was a former Ward Township fireman. Don was a member of the Indiana National Guard, the Phi Delta Kappa, and the Randolph Co. Sheep Producer.
          He enjoyed fishing, playing softball, and was past president of the Winchester Adult Softball Association, he also coached adult women's softball for many years. He enjoyed taking care of his sheep, coon hunting, bailing hay, and having a beer with his friends. He had a passion for playing cards, NASCAR and loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and many others in the community. Last but not least he loved his grandchildren Celia and Elliott with all his heart.
          Survivors include his daughter, Lisa (Dan) Waber, Winchester; one son, Chad Sipe, Winchester; sister, Helen Hartzell, Winchester; his granddaughter, Celia Waber and grandson Elliott Waber, both of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline L. Sipe on July 17, 2006; and his sister, Doris Ann Litten.
          Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, IN with Pastor Steve Conner officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga, IN. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Randolph County 4-H Club Inc., 1885 S. US 27, Winchester, IN 47394.

Sipe Services Set For
Monday Afternoon

          Funeral services for Ed Sipe, 64, formerly of Saratoga, who died suddenly Thursday night in Little Rock, Ark., of heart attack, will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Saratoga Methodist church. Interment will be in the Saratoga cemetery. Last rites were set for Monday afternoon but had to be delayed pending the arrival of relatives.
