          SIMMONS, Benjamin W., b. in Jackson twp. Aug. 20,1839 and d. near Modoc, R.C., Mar. 16; 1892 ae 52y 6m 26d. He m. Elizabeth Reeves in 1867 and had 8 children. His father came to R.C. in 1821. He enlisted Apr. 1861 in Capt .Cranor's Comp. 11th O.V.I. and 69th Ind. Vol. He was severely wounded in Demons of Rebellion May of 1863 and never recovered. He joined the Winch. M.E. Church. He was the R.C. Recorder. He was the s/o James b. in OH and Christina (Hawkins) Simmons b. in OH. He was m. Apr.13th in 1867.
