MEETS DEATH IN SILO CAVE IN ----------
Cary Franklin Puckett met instant death, Saturday, at his home near Harrisville, when the contents of a silo caved in on him while at work. He entered the silo intending to loosen the silage which had frozen around the edges. The center of the silage, when he loosened the bottom the whole mass of material fell on him. He no doubt was overcome with the deadly gases of the silo preventing any possibility of digging his way out.
His parents, Mr. And Mrs. Taylor Puckett, left home about two o'clock to come to Winchester to do their trading. Cary entered the silo at the time of their leaving home. When they returned along toward evening their son was missing. Investigation of the silo showed the cave in and they rightly supposed their son had been caught and smothered to death. Charles Hamilton and other neighbors were called and the lifeless body was found when the silage was removed. The body was cold so no doubt the accident occurred immediately after the parents left the home.
The unfortunate young man was twenty years of age and a brother of Deputy Sherriff Charles Puckett, of this city. He is survived by his parents, eight brothers and one sister. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday by Rev. Harvey Thornburg at the Buena Vista church and the remains laid to rest in the Buena Vista cemetery.

March 22, 1911 ----------
Mary E. Puckett, daughter of Dempsey and Elizabeth Reed, was born in Randolph County, Indiana, October 24, 1839, and died at her home in Unionport March 12, 1911, aged 72 years, 4 months and 15 days.
She was married to John Dolby in 1862 and to this union were born five sons and six daughters of which four sons and five daughters have preceded her to the great beyond. She spent most of her life near and in Indianapolis. She was left a widow in 1898.
She was converted and united with the M.E. church at Acton, in early life. Puckett July 21, 1908, after which time she came to live at his home in Unionport, this union being short but happily spent.
Many good things might be said of Aunt Mary but best of all was her implicit faith and trust in jesus - always trusting everthing to him.
She leaves to mourn her husband, two children, three step-children, nine grandchildren and three great-grand-children, relatives and host of friends.
The funeral was held at the home in Unionport and the remains were taken to Acton for burial. Rev. Ruby Oren conducted the funeral, Tuesday, March 14.
