        MONTGOMERY, William, b. 1799 in N.C. Came to R.C. settling in Ward twp. in 1833 at age 59yrs. He m. 1829. He d. Oct. 21,1892 ae 93yrs, the s/o Samuel b. in N.C., he d. of a broken hip. He was the father of 9 children. Surv. are the wf. (another rec. lists him as a widower). He has a sister Mrs. A.R. Hiatt. Bur. in the Reitenour Cem. Serv. by Rev. R.D. Spellman.
A second Obit lists him b. Dec. 12, 1798 in Guilford Co. N.C. He m. Sarah H. Hiatt in 1829 the eldest d/o John & Rachel Hiatt. They had 12 children. Surv. Eli., Phineas, Priscilla, Jasper, Eliz., Cyrena, Lovina, Milton, Christi. Dec'd, are John, Thomas and Husana. Hurt in a fall Oct. 15, 1892 and never recovered. He (Wm) d. at a bro-in-law, Abner Barker. Eldest s/o Samuel and Mary. Surv. by wf., 9 children, 58 gr-children, 2 bros.
