County Native Dies At Jay County Hospital

          Alice E. McFarland, 83, of North Salem, died Thursday morning at the Jay County hospital in Portland. She had been in ill health for five years due to a heart condition.
          Born on July 15, 1866, in Randolph county, she was the daughter of George L. and Rachel (Depor) Mann.  She was first married to Abraham Losh who died in 1905. In July, 1908 she was married to Dr. Norman McFarland who preceded her in death in 1924.
          Survivors include one step-daughter, Mrs. William Cummins of Montpelier; one brother, J.Q. Mann of North Salem; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ritenour of near Ridgeville, Mrs. Laura Klinger of Rose City, Ohio, and Mrs. Anna Moore of Aliance, Ohio, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
          Funeral services for Mrs. McFarland will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Williamson funeral home in Portland. Interment will be in the New Pittsburg cemetery.

        McFARLAND, Anna, A teacher in lhe Ward twp school d. Oct. 10, 1893 of a Stroke. She was 27yrs of age. Her mother's name was Langal b. in Ind. (Death rec. lists her as Carrie).
