Elizabeth Wilmott, was born in Bristol, England, Nov. 20, 1814 - Came to America when but three years of age.  Was married to William B. Lewis March 8, 1834 - Died at the residence of her son-in-law, .W. Nichols, Lynn, Ind., May 2nd, 1885, aged 70 years, 5 months, and 12 days.  She was the mother of 10 children, six of whom survived her, are all married and were all present at her death.
Mrs. Lewis indentified herself with the Christian Church at Bethpage, about 45 years ago.  Her marriage with Mr. Lewis occurred in Randolph County, and they were residents of this county more than 50 years.  Her husband who preceeded her in death on Jan. 15th, 1885, and herself were a remarkable couple, remarkable for their religious zeal, kindness of heart and cheerful loving disposition.  In all the elements that go to make up an exemplary and umblemished and useful life.  They were so equal and their influence for good was felt in the community in which they lived, and their death is deeply regretted by all.  "Aunt Lizzie" as she was familiarly called, bore her last afflictions which was of short duration, with that Christian fortitude which is not only to those who trust in the saving power of the crucified Savior, and who souls have been made white in the blood of the lamb, consistent until the last, and bidding those above her a loving farwell.  She is asleep in the arms of the Lord who she had so long loved and served.  She is gone to that better land, gone to the much loved ones gone before-gone from this world to bask in sweet smiles of just God, and enjoy that sweet peace which awaits the righteous and endureth forever.  To the loved ones left behind, we say profit by her example and teachings, and let your lives be such as will gain your admission into that heavenly home where she awaits your coming.
Her remains were interred at Arba cemetery, Elder Ludwig officiating, the services being attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
