WILLIAM JENKINS DIES
----------
William Jenkins, familiarly known, to all of our citizens as "Bill Jenks" at the county infirmary. He had been died at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening in poor health for some time and kept to his bed since Christmas. Together with his father and mother, he was taken to the poor farm when he was 14 years of age. That was in 1871 when Amos Hall had the care of the poor farm. William had three sisters who in 1867 were placed in the same home. He also had one brother. Most of the family of seven members died at the institution. The body of the lately deceased was brought to the Maynard funeral home and
prepared for burial. The funeral took place Thursday at 2:00 o'clock from the funeral home.

JENKINS, John,
s/o Jacob and Hannah b. Apple Pie Ridge, Frederick Co. Va. Feb. 1810. He m. Frances C. Smith d/o Capt. Geo. Smith of Black Creek Valley, Va. Mar. 31, 1831; they had 10 children, 2 surv. viz. Mrs. Hannah A.Wilmore and Abijah B. Jenkins. Mrs. Jenkins d. Jan. 5, 1877, they had been m. 46yrs. John moved to Greene Co. OH in 1836 and to R.C. in 1837. He d. Sept. 29, 1894 of Chronic Gastritis. He was a mem. of the Pleasant Ridge Presby. Church since 1842.

JENKINS, John W.,
s/o John & Frances b. at Harfield farm. Frederick Co. Va. Mar. 27, 1836 Moved to R.C. in the fall of 1837 with his parents. He left home at the age of 18 and taught school. Studied law at New Castle and moved to Kansas in 1857. He d. Feb. 20, 1887 at Denver, Colo. ae 51yrs.
