----------
HUFFMAN- Jacob McNees Huffman was born Nov. 25, 1851. Departed this life Feb. 1st, 1886; aged thirty-four years, two months and six days.
He became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church about fifteen years ago. He was a son of the late Henry D. Huffman, who preceeded him to the final home to the "faithful to God" about ten years.
He has been seriously afflicted for about four years, during which time he has been very patient, however, always entertaining a hopes of recovery.
He did not seem to fear death, but was quite anxious to live; it seemed that life was still dear to him, although his cup was more than full of sorrow and afflictions.
Yet, at times when his sufferings were severe, he was known to say that "I wish I could fall asleep, never to awaked to my sufferings." He has often said that when death would come he was willing to go. We can have the blessed assurance, from the evidence that he has left for us, that he will be among the redeemed of God's children in Heaven.
The funeral services were conducted at the Maxville Church in the presence of a large congregation, by Revs. J. A. Moorman, and Alfred Rogers, pastor of the M.E. Church.
