Obituary -- Ann Elizabeth Hubbard, daughter of William and Hannah Merryweather, was born June 16, 1839, and died May 29, 1890, aged 50 years, 11 months and 13 days. She was married to Francis Hubbard on February 17th, 1859. This union was blessed with five children -- one daughter and four sons, the two oldest sons now in the far west. She leaves a husband, five children, an aged mother, brothers and sisters, and many other relatives and friends to mourn her death. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and for many years she had been a consistent member of the Friends church and lived a true, devoted christian (life) until death. Almost the last words spoken by her were, "Sow thy seed in the morning." She said she was prepared to go.
Oh death, were is thy sting? Oh, grave, where is thy victory?
Funeral service was held by Rev. Wm. Cox, in the Friends' church at Poplar Run, after which the remains were taken to the cemetery and laid to rest.
[This obituary was written by Susan M. Merryweather - possibly a sister.]
