Death Calls Hobart Houk
----------
        Hobart Houk, twenty-six, died at a Muncie hospital Wednesday evening from tuberculosis. The body was brought here to his home on North East street Thursday. The funeral was held at the East Street Christian church Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. C.A. Mitchell and the Rev. Elvin Thornburg officiating.
        He is survived by the widow and one small child. Mr. Houk was a soldier in the World war and it was there that he contracted the fatal disease.
        A detachment of the American Legion participated in the last sad rites.

        HOUK, Sarah Ann (Davis) Cox, b. in Southern Ind. July 4, 1826-d. in Winchester, Ind. Oct. 2, 1899 ae 62y. On Apr. 11, 1844 she m. Nathan Cox. He died and on Nov. 11, 1869 she m. Michael C. Houk. She had 8 children.

        HOUK, Michael C., was b. Darke. Co. OH June 12, 1833-d. at Ridgeville. Ind. Wed. Mar. 15, 1893. He was in the Civil War (an Article on Veterans). He came to R.C. in 1860 and m. Sarah A. (Cox widow/o Nathan Cox, Nov. 11, 1869 (See obit of Sarah A. Houk). Surv. are the wf. 2 sons and 1 dt. and a step child. Burial in the New Dayton Cem.
