        HAYNES, Stephen, b. Dutches Co. NY Jan. 12, 1800. Came to ClInton Co. OH at age 19y, returned to Herkemer Co. NY, m. Laura Gaines Mar. 9, 1822, they had 9 children. She died Mar.26, 1877 and also 4 children dec'd. He m. 2nd Elenor Allison who surv. Oct. 29, 1878. He was the s/o Enoch and Eliz. (Bindost?) both b. Ind. He was 90yrs of age and res. near Unlonporl. Mem. M.E.Church for 60 yrs. and of the Temperance Soc. since 1835. Surv. are one son and 4 dts. He died of the La Grippe.
