Wahneta Hawley, 83 of Murrieta, CA, and formerly of Winchester, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA. She was born on October 19, 1930 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Charles V. and Agnes C. (Hutson) Stanton.
        Wahneta graduated from McKinley High School in 1948. She was retired as a buyer from the Boston Store in Union City, Indiana. Wahneta was Worthy Matron of Winchester Chapter #60 Order of Eastern Star in 1969 and 1993 and also served as Grand Representative to Washington Grand Chapter in 1994.
        Wahneta is survived by her daughter, Kathy Daly and son-in-law, Bill, of Murrieta, CA and her white poodle, Sugar.
        She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Harold (Skip) Hawley and one brother, Claud Stanton.
        Funeral services for Wahneta will be held on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Walker Funeral Home, 248 E. South St., Winchester, Indiana with Rev. Heather Foley officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
        Friends and family may call from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:45 pm Friday at the funeral home.
