Claudia Johnson Dobbs, 89

                    FARMLAND - Claudia Johnson Dobbs, 89, of Farmland, IN, died at her residence, Monday morning, September 18, 2006.
          She was born December 10, 1916, in Rush County, IN, the daughter of Leslie Edward and Goldie E. (Wagoner) Thorpe.
          She spent most of her young life in Ft. Wayne, IN, but has lived 65 years of her life in the Parker City area.
          She was a member of Parker City Methodist Church and Indiana WCTU (Woman's Christian Temperance Union) holding offices in local, county and state.           For over six years she was a Hostess & Docent of the Willard Home and Museum in Evanston, IL, a National Historic Landmark and former home of the Frances E. Willard, second president of National WCTU, and founder of the World WCTU.
          She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Rebecca Reiber (husband, Cecil) of Parker City and Rhoda Bly (husband, Frank) of Farmland; two sisters, Joan Keever of Muncie, IN and Betty French (husband, Robert) of Ft. Wayne, IN; step daughter, Anita Dujmovich (husband, Richard) of Muncie, IN; six grandchildren, Cinda Oliver of Hillsboro, OH, Beth Coyne (husband, Bill) of Loveland, CO, Marc Thornburg of Farmland, IN, Marcy Crabtree (husband, Darrell) of Parker City, IN, Andrea Moore of Warrensburg, MO and Andrew Bly (wife, Mandy) of Parker City, IN; two step-grandchildren, Sherry Bailey (husband, Phil) of Albany, IN and Tina Hines of Muncie; nine great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
          She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband of her youth, Hershel Lowell Johnson and a husband, Roy E. Dobbs; an infant son; a daughter, Martha Oliver Fleshman (son-in-law, John Oliver); granddaughter, Linda Oliver Storms; three brothers; and one sister.
          A service to celebrate Claudia's life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Parker City United Methodist Church, 305 S. Main St. Parker City, IN with Rev. Sherri Drake officiating.
          Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Thornburg Memorial Chapel, Parker City, IN and one hour before service time at the church.
