Randolph County, IndianaMrs. Charity Ellen Crawford, 67, of 515 South Columbia street, Union City, died at the Memorial hospital Sunday morning at 3:30 o'clock after an extended illness. She had been ill two and one half years and seriously ill for four weeks.

She was born in Shelby county, Ohio, May 11, 1884, the daughter of Daniel and Abbie (Johns) Hayes. She came to Union City when she was a young lady.
On December 17, 1910, she was married to Omer Crawford at Winchester, who passed away in 1935.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Howard White, of Winchester; Mrs. Viola Hampton, of Union City, and Miss Ida Bell Crawford, of Ft. Wayne; Chester, of Buffalo, New York; Lester, of Union city, and Charles of Laura, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, and a brother James Hayes, of Franklin, Ohio. One son is deceased.
Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Union City Evangelical United Brethren church.

A Randolph County Area NewspaperIn failing health for more than a year, Philip Sheridan Crawford, retired Pennsylvania railroad employe, died Thursday at 6 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. H. W. Walters, 325 Vine street, Union City, where he made his residence.

Mr. Crawford was born near Greenville in Darke county, Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Crawford. He attended the Darke county schools and later married. His wife, Belle, died several years ago. He came to the Union City community about 40 years ago, 31 of which he was employed by the railroad.
Survivors include seven children, Alva and George Crawford, Mrs. Roy Best, Mrs. Arthur Skiver, Mrs. H. W. Walters and Mrs. Lores Mace, all of Union City, and Mrs. Carl Cummings, of Dayton; one brother, Grant Crawford, of Union City; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Blaine, of Union City, and Mrs. George Riegel and Mrs. Ella Woods, of Union City, R.F.D. 3; several grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren. One son, Omer, died five years ago.
The remains will be returned to the residence from the Fraze funeral home in Union City at 2 p.m. today, after which time friends may call.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Fraze Funeral home. Burial will be in the Union City cemetery.
