Hannah Shugart Chenoweth, who was born in Fountain City March 15, 1848, died at her home near Lynn December 27, 1896.
She was married to B. F. Chenoweth March 18, 1865. To them were born eleven children.
She united with the Christian church in February 1876 and remained a faithful servant of the Lord until death. She endured her suffering with the greatest Christian patience. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. The pall-bearers were Sisters Roland, Ford, Huskins, Reece, Longfellow and Nichols, all members of the Society.
The funeral was preached by Rev. J. M. Land. Burial was at Mt. Gilead. [She died of cancer.]
