PORTLAND, Ind., July 31. --- A very mysterious murder occurred near Winchester last night.  Kent Brown, a colored barber, hired a rig and went out driving.  After a short time the horse came back to the stable, pulling an empty buggy.  A serach was instititued for the occupant, and he was found dead in the road some distance from town.  Brown's head had been caved in with a rock and a long knife stab penetrated his vitals.  No clue so far to the assassin.
