FARMLAND  DEATHS
----------
Obituary –- Amanda Arminda (Myers) Brooks, daughter of Henry and Sarah Jane Myers, was born November 13, 1852, and departed this life June 17, 1904, aged 51 years, 7 months and 4 days.
She was born in the State of Ohio, and was one of a family of thirteen children.
Of the family there remain two brothers – Lewis and Frank Myers, and four sisters – Everda Mills, Mary C. Cline, Alice M. Amburn and Etta Hayworth, eight having passed to the other side in advance.
The subject of this tribute was married to Jordan Brooks, on May 9, 1875. She was ever a faithful, loving companion, and to this union were born fourteen children, ten of whom still live. Three infants and Elsie Pearl preceded mother to the spirit land. The remaining children are six sons – William E., Thomas V., Henry D., Ira D., Okie O., Homer L., and four daughters – Mrs. Ella S. Ables, Flora E., Lottie M., and Hazel I., and grandchildren.
This affliction falls heavily upon loving hearts yet remaining.
Her home was her world, for she preferred it to any other place on earth and ever sought to maintain peace and happiness therein. But the Great Physician, who doeth all things well, has called her to her peaceful rest.
She leaves a loving husband, ten children and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, June 19, 1904, at Union, conducted by Rev. N. H. Thornburg, after which the body was laid to rest in Union cemetery.
