Elmer E. Botkin, County Native Dies At Muncie

Elmer E. Botkin, 87-year-old retired Muncie Attorney, passed away Monday at 10:15 p.m. at Ball Memorial hospital in Muncie. Prominent in Muncie and Delaware county until his retirement in 1940, Mr. Botkin had been ill for several months, and his condition was described as critical for the past few days.
He was born in Randolph county and moved to Muncie when a young man. He was a graduate of DePauw university, a member of the High Street Methodist church and the Muncie Bar association.
The deceased made his home at 505 Rex street. He was taken to the Ball hospital several days ago when his condition became serious.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John Coffin of Muncie; one sister, Mrs. C. E. Martin of Lynn; a brother, William Botkin of Carlos, and a granddaughter, Judith Coffin of Muncie.
The body was taken to the Meeks mortuary in Muncie where friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning at the mortuary in Muncie.
