Mrs. Mary Benson, colored, aged forty-seven, passed away at her home near Woods Station, five miles south of this city, Friday morning at four o'clock following a lingering illness. A husband and two children survive. The funeral services were conducted from the Mt. Pleasant church Sunday morning at eleven o'clock. Rev. Oliver Bales officiated and interment was made in Old? cemetery nearby.
