A Winchester NewspaperWord was received by relatives in this city that Alpheus Beard, a well known resident of this city, died Wednesday morning at Colorado Springs, where, accompanied by Mrs. Beard, he went early in the fall for the benefit of his health. He suffered an attack of influenza last year, from which he never recovered.

WESTERN TRIP ENDS IN DEATH

Besides the widow, one son, Ora Beard, survives. The remains accompanied by Mrs. Beard, arrived here Friday morning and were taken to the home of a brother-in-law, A.L. Farquhar, in South Main street. Funeral services conducted from the Friends church, Saturday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. Frank Cornell. Burial in Fountain Park Cemetery.
