The Lynn TribuneSarah Hogston was born Dec. 7, 1819 and died July 19th, 1896, aged 82 yrs., 7 months and 12 days. She was married to Wm. Barnes, July 29, 1833. This union was blessed with six children, four daughters and two sons. Two daughters have preceded her to the Better Land. Four children, twenty-four grand-children, twelve great grand-children, and other relatives and friends are left to mourn her loss. She has been a member of the M. E. church, for many years.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ira Johnson, Tuesday, July 21, at Hopewell. Interment in the Hopewell cemetery.
