The Muncie Star PressUNION CITY, IN - Naomi "Jo" Austin, 84, of Union City, IN, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2006 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

She was born on January 18, 1922 in Lynn, IN to Roscoe "Babe" and Alta (Miner) Moore. She was a 1939 graduate of Spartanburg High School and was a homemaker.
She also was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Union City, Ohio.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking and flowers. Recently, she had won first place at the Mooreland Fair for her pie baking. She also enjoyed playing games and cards.
Survivors include five children, son, Ed (wife-Donna) Austin of Ashland, WI; daughter, Sharon (husband-Dick) LeFevre of Union City, IN; son, Kenneth (wife-Janice) Austin of Albany, IN; daughter, Brenda (husband-Larry) Marshall of New Castle; and son, Dallas (wife-Sue) Austin of Union City, IN; sister, Judy (husband-Gene) Sickels of Tuscon, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Melva Keys of Muncie and Faith Holstein of Matthews, NC; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Ray Austin; 2 sisters, Bernice Canada York and LaVaughn Romack; 2 brothers, George and Dan Moore; and a great grandson, Micah Mong.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 117 Franklin St., Union City, OH with Rev. Mitch Pollic and Rev. Mick Whistler officiating.
Burial will follow in Jericho Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, September 25 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the church.
Walker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

The Union City Times - GazetteThomas Gail Austin, of Muncie route 4, yesterday in Randolph Circuit court was appointed administrator of the estate of his mother, Addie Austin, who died October 31 of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Bond of $2,000 was furnished with Francis Ralph Austin of Fountain City, Mabel Cox, Ruth Austin, Sylvia Austin and William K. Moore of Winchester as sureties.
Lem Austin, husband of Addie Austin, was instantly killed in the accident, which occurred east of Winchester on the Greenville pike.
