Martindale Friends
Martindale Meetinghouse was erected in 1886 at a cost of $700 and was a preparative meeting under Cherry Grove Monthly Meeting.
Improvements were made in 1909 and in 1930. It was named for nearby Martindale Creek.
In 1956 it became a Monthly Meeting being set off from Cherry Grove MM.
Family names of early members included Baldwin, Blansett, Coffin, Edwards, Fisher, Frazier, Hiatt, Hinshaw, Johnson, Kelly, Lamb, Miller, Pursley, Wilson.
It was laid down in 1976 and remains vacant.

Location: 5 miles west of Lynn, IN and 2 miles north, Washington Twp., Randolph Co., IN.
Address: Either RR2, Lynn, IN or RR3, Winchester, IN.
Date Organized as a meeting: January, 1886. As a monthly meeting: December 3, 1956.
Organized by authority of: Cherry Grove Monthly Meeting.
Origin of name: For Martindale Creek that flowed nearby.
Family names of charter or early members: FISHER, FRAZIER, EDWARDS, COFFIN, HINSHAW, WILSON, LYKINS, JOHNSON, KELLY, BALDWIN, BLANSET, MILLER, LAMB, PURSLY and HIATT.
First paid minister: John Hardwick.

History of physical facilities: There has been only one meetinghouse at Martindale, built in late 1886 and dedicated Dec 4, 1887.
