Date Organized as a Meeting: In 1884 a preparative meeting was established. (Some records give the date as 1882)

Origin of Name: Named for the creek with the same name located nearby.
Family Names of Charter or Early Members: ADDINGTON, STEPHENS, BURTON, SMITHSON and WILLIAMS.
First Paid Minister: Fred Smith. Date 1893.
Present Membership: 51.
History of the physical Facilities: Bear Creek Friends erected theirfirst meetinghouse in 1882.
The present structure was erected in 1905 with a Christian Education Annex added in 1959.
