This compilation was originally done by the Indiana Works Progress Administration in 1940. The records include the period from 1880-1920. some of these were done as transcripts of 1970s death reports. This data is incomplete. If you wish to help get data on-line here, please contact the Putnum County Coordinator.
The information included in the Index is the name of the deceased, gender, color, age at death, date of death, place of death, as well as book and page number of original volumes (hopefully added alter if not there). I am including name, gender (some names can and were used for both males and females), color (only if other than white), age at death, date of death, and place of death.
