Funeral services were held at the Chastain funeral home Tuesday morning for John T. Zimmerman who died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Eggers Sunday afternoon. Burial was made in Roachdale cemetery. Mr. Zimmerman was a brother-in-law of Mr. Eggers. He had been ill only four days following a paralytic stroke. Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Spitz and Mrs. Lucille Borden, both of Indianapolis; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bartlett of near Advance, Mrs. Anna Chambers of near Jamestown, Mrs. Rosa Riner of Indianapolis and Mrs. Emma Miller of Milwaukee, and five grandchildren. Roachdale - June 6 - John Thomas Zimmerman, 71 died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Eggers here at 1:45 o'clock this afternoon following 7 days' illness. He suffered a stroke of paralysis. Born in Virginia Jan 22, 1868, Mr. Zimmerman was the son of William and Mary Ashwell Zimmerman. He married Alice Miller who survives in 1900. He was a member of the Lebanon Methodist Church. Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Spitz and Mrs. Lucille Borden, both of Indianapolis, four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bartlett, near Advance, Mrs. Anna Chambers, near Jamestown; Mrs. Rosa Riner, Indianapolis and Mrs. Emma Miller, Milwaukee and five grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at Chastain Funeral Home here at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday night and Tuesday morning.
