Cloverdale – Eugene M. Yount, 46, vice president and cashier at First National Bank died Wednesday afternoon in Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle. Born in Tippecanoe County, he lived for a time in Brookstone before moving to Cloverdale. Mr. Yount had been with First National Bank 12 years. He was also a former Monon Railroad agent at Cloverdale and worked at several stations north of Brookston including LaCrosse and San Pierre. In 1953, he married Mary Fuller who is the Cloverdale Postmistress. Mr. Yount was a member of F&AM 132, past president of Cloverdale Lions Club, treasurer of Putnam County Hospital and vice president of Bank Administrative Institute of Indiana. Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Kilgore of Cloverdale, Diane and Janice, both at home, and two sons, Jack and Larry, both at home; his mother, Ivey Miller Yount of Cloverdale. – kbz

Eugene M. Yount – Friends may call at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 3-9 p.m. Friday.  Services there 11 a.m. Saturday. Brother Lowell Barr officiating. Interment Cloverdale Cemetery. Also surviving is one granddaughter.
