One more suicide is added to the long list of the past two months. John Maloney coming from Roachdale Wednesday brought word to Prosecutor James and Coroner McNeff of the suicide of Robert Young. Robert and his wife, who lived at Ladoga, disagreed about 3 months ago and he left his wife and child and went to Indianapolis. About 3 weeks ago his wife received a telegram from Indianapolis that her husband had taken poison and departed this life. Mr. Joe Miller, of Roachdale, who had raised Young, received a like message. Mrs. Young hastened to Indianapolis and as she left the depot she was accosted by her husband, who had not left the land of the living. Young then went to Mrs. Millers at Roachdale. Tuesday night, before retiring Young took poison the universal panacea for woe, disappointment and ennui – and shuffled off in the latest approved style at 12 o’clock. Young was about 25 years of age and leaves a wife and one child. Coroner McNeff went up to Roachdale on Wednesday to hold an inquest over the remains. Putnam is getting quite a reputation for the suicidal mania. - kbz
