YORK, Laura Mae McDonald - Putnam

Services were Thursday at the Hopkins Funeral Home in Greencastle for Mrs. Laura Mae York, 77, of Greencastle, formerly of Clinton. She died Tuesday morning (July 18, 1978) in Greencastle. Burial was in Greencastle. She was born July 29, 1901, in Clinton, the daughter of Charles and Effie Mae Huffman McDonald. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Smiley, Mrs. Barbara Black and Mrs. Sharon Sheldon, all of Greencastle, and Mrs. Zola Jones of St. Paul, Minn.; five sons, John of Greencastle, Bill of Greencastle Route 4, George of Manhattan, Leroy of Carpentersville and Forrest of Greencastle Route 5; a sister, Mrs. Zora Baysinger of Lyford; two brothers, Elishia McDonald of St. Bernice and James McDonald of Fort Wayne; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.    --– jlr
