Grover Cleveland Wright, Bedford, RR 1, 71-year-old retired Monon Railway engineer was found dead in the bath tub at his residence on River Bluffs Road this morning at 7. Lawrence County Coroner Dr RE Wynne attributed death to a heart attack and stated that Mr. Wright had complained yesterday of not feeling well. He had been in failing health for two years with death coming quite suddenly. He was born Nov 23, 1884 in Putnam County, Indiana and James and Elizabeth Sherrill Wright. He was married to Katherine McGill Johnson on October 17, 1917 at Bedford. He served as an employee of the Monon Railway from 1901-1948. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bedford and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. Survivors include the wife; two nephews, Lyman Wright of Williams and Upton Gorem of California; two nieces, Mrs. Mary Schaffer of Indianapolis and Mrs. Emma White of Greencastle. Six sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Sherwood-Ferguson & Speer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sherwood-Ferguson & Speer Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. The family has requested that the friends not send floral offerings.
