Burial services were held on Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock in Oakridge cemetery for Omar Wiseman who passed away on Friday morning at his home in Altamont from heart disease. Mr. Wiseman had been compelled to give up his duties as telegrapher some four weeks ago but his family did not realizer his condition to be so serious until his sudden death. Miss Highland Wiseman of DePauw and Miss Margaret Wiseman, Champaign, attended the funeral of their cousin Omar Wiseman on Sunday afternoon.

Omar D. Wiseman for many years a telegraph operator in this city died quite suddenly on Friday night, Dec 27. Mrs. Wiseman was spending the evening at the home of Joseph Mardorf when he became suddenly ill. Dr. Schumacher was called to the scene but Mr. Wiseman had died before the doctor arrived. The body was removed to the Having Funeral Home and prepared for burial. Mr. Wiseman was born in Camargo, Ill on Dec 26, 1877. He was the son of the late Dr. WA Wiseman and Mrs. Amy C. Wiseman. He was married to Miss Grace Grogan of Greencastle, Indiana while a student at DePauw University in that city. To this union four children were born, one of whom, Harold preceded his father in death. For the past 32 years Mr. Wiseman had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a telegraph operator. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Grace Wiseman; two daughters, Mrs. WA Purkey and Miss Irene Wiseman both of Newcastle, Indiana; his son William A. Wiseman of South Gate, California; and his mother Mrs. Amy C. Wiseman of Carmargo, Illinois. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church with Rev. Fred C. Mery officiating. The remains were taken to Camargo for burial. – kbz
