Cecil O. Wilson, 70, 509 W. Main St., died Monday night in Culver Hospital after an extended illness. He had been hospitalized since Jan. 3. Mr. Wilson was employed by Crawfordsville Casket Factory and later at National Guard Armory. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Raccoon. A World War I veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post here. He served as sergeant of arms and was a member of the American Legion firing squad for a number of years. Born June 8, 1893 near Roachdale, he was the son of William and Ida Shelley Wilson. He was married Sept. 29, 1917 at Crawfordsville to Mary Thena Patton. Mr, and Mrs. Wilson first lived at Raccoon. Before moving to this city in 1938 they farmed near New Richmond for a time. Survivors include the widow; a son, Vernon of Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Long of Ladoga, Mrs. Mary Dukes of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Barbara Moody of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest White of Waveland and Mrs. Lillian Bailey of Sarasota, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Bright Funeral Home. Rev. Willis A. Syphers of the Linden Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p. m. Wednesday. --- typed by Walt W
