William Penrose Williams departed this life at Meoka, IT Friday July 31st at 3 o’clock a.m. after an illness of three weeks from typhoid malaria. The deceased was born in Putnam County, Indiana in 1867 and moved to Kansas with his parents in 1870. He came direct to Montgomery County and has made his home here ever since. He was married to Lorula May Thompson Oct 21st 1895. One child was born to them and it passed away when only a few months old. In addition to the bereaved wife he leaves a father, mother, four brothers and four sisters to mourn his death. One sister and two brothers were unable to get here for the funeral, their homes being in far-away Washington. The remains were brought here for burial Sunday and the funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church at 4 o’clock in the afternoon by Rev. AM Barker. A large concourse of sorrowing and sympathetic friends followed the remains to their last resting place in Fairview cemetery. Pemrose Williams was well and favorably known to almost everybody in the community. He was a devoted husband and loved him home, his relatives and friends.
